Our Parkland High School JROTC program is celebrating a massive win this week! This past Saturday, seven of our dedicated cadets showcased their strength, stamina, and teamwork at the Raider Challenge obstacle course hosted by Hanks High School.
Competing in the co-ed division, our Matadors faced off against top-tier teams from across the El Paso area. The competition was far from easy, designed to push every participant to their physical and mental limits.
The Ultimate Test of Grit
The Raider Challenge isn't your average track meet. Our cadets had to navigate a series of high-intensity, timed events, including:
Zip Lining: Precision and speed under pressure.
Medical Litter Carry: Testing team coordination and functional strength.
Tractor Tire Flip: A pure display of power and grit.
The One-Mile Ruck: A grueling mile-long course completed while carrying 15–25 lb rucksacks.
Champions of El Paso
After a day of grueling competition, the results were clear: Parkland JROTC secured 1st Place! Their victory is a testament to the countless hours of training and the "never-quit" attitude that defines our JROTC program. Standing tall with their trophy, these seven cadets have brought pride to our school and proven that Parkland remains a force to be reckoned with in any arena.
"Outstanding work, cadets! Your discipline and teamwork have truly paid off. We are incredibly proud to have you representing Parkland High School."
Congratulations to our 1st Place Raider Team! Go Matadors!
