The future is looking bright—and a little more orange—for six of our very own Parkland High School seniors. On Monday, February 23rd, representatives from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) visited our campus for a special presentation that turned a regular Monday into a life-changing milestone.
The Road to Excellence
Out of a massive pool of over 2,000 applicants, six Matadors stood out from the crowd. These students weren't just selected for their impressive GPAs; the UTEP selection committee placed a heavy emphasis on their personal essays. Our students shared their unique stories, ambitions, and voices, proving that Parkland breeds not only scholars but also compelling storytellers and leaders.
The Award Breakdown
The UTEP Excellence Scholarship is a prestigious commitment to a student’s academic journey. Here are the details of the award:
Value: Ranging from $2,000 to $8,000 per year.
Longevity: Renewable for up to four years of undergraduate study.
Total Impact: For some of our recipients, this represents a potential $32,000 investment in their higher education.
