🌵 Regional Results from Lubbock
Following the District success, the Matadors traveled to Lubbock on February 6-7 for the UIL 1-5A Regional Championships. Against the toughest competition in West Texas, our Matadors stood tall:
Noah Gamez put on a masterclass performance, going 4-1 on the mat to secure a hard-earned 3rd Place finish.
Sebastian Pedroza battled through a stacked bracket to finish in 4th Place.
🚀 The Final Charge: State Championships in Houston
The journey reached its peak for two of our standout seniors. Noah Gamez and Sebastian Pedroza earned the ultimate honor: qualifying for the UIL State Championships at the Berry Center in Houston, TX.
Facing the best wrestlers in the Great State of Texas, Noah and Sebastian represented the Matador spirit with class and ferocity. Both wrestlers went 2 for 2 in their matches, putting forth a massive effort against the state's top-tier talent. While they didn't reach the podium this time, their performance solidified their legacy in the Parkland wrestling program.
This year was about more than just wins and losses; it was about the "Never Yield" attitude of the Parkland Matador. From freshman sensation Adrian Guzman to our seasoned senior leaders, the wrestling room is full of champions in the making.
Congratulations to all our wrestlers and Coaches Rodriguez and Morales on an unforgettable season! You’ve made the Parkland community proud!
