Parkland High School will host an ASVAB Career Exploration Program testing opportunity next week for any 10th-12th grade students who would like to participate.

Place: Parkland High School ROTC Room
What is the ASVAB CEP? This is a valuable opportunity to get to know your strengths , yourself , and your options. It is not just a military test. The program helps you find the career fields you are best suited for and explore all your options for college, work-based learning, or the military.
The program is offered at no cost and with no commitment , and it is sponsored by the Department of Defense.
How to Sign Up: Interested 10th-12th graders must scan the QR code on the posters around the school to sign up.
Please note: A follow-up workshop will take place on Tuesday, December 9th, 2025.


Matadors, get ready for the adventure of a lifetime! An incredible educational travel opportunity to England and Scotland is available for students in the Fall of 2027. Travel is a unique experience that expands a student's knowledge of the world and helps them learn more about themselves.

El Paso Community College, The University of Texas at El Paso, and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso are hosting several free informational sessions for parents and families.
Financial aid experts will be there to discuss the true cost of college, explain how financial aid works, and show you the options available to make higher education more affordable. This is a great opportunity to get your questions answered and prepare for college costs with confidence.
They can also help you fill out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and the TASFA (Texas Application for State Financial Aid). If you need help with the applications, please remember to bring the following items:
* Your personal electronic device, fully charged
* Active personal email account information for both the student and a parent
* Personal information for both the student and a parent
* 2024 tax information

Learn routines from the award-winning Parkland Caperettes and get the chance to perform with them during the football game on October 24th! This is a fantastic opportunity for aspiring dancers of all skill levels.

Who: Dancers ages 5-18
When: Saturday, Oct. 18th & Sunday, Oct. 19th, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Cost: $35 per participant.
Includes: A special performance at the PHS football game on Friday, October 24th! 🏈

Parkland High School is proud to announce that senior Azra Rios Carroll will be formally recognized with the President’s Award at the Ysleta ISD Board of Trustees meeting on Wednesday, August 27.
Azra was nominated for this prestigious honor for her generous volunteer work at the Turn The Page: Be The Change camp this summer, where she went above and beyond her role as a volunteer. Her leadership and dedication played a central role in shaping the camp’s educational impact, showcasing her commitment to serving others and making a difference in the community.
As the honoree, Azra will have the unique opportunity to open the board meeting using the Board President’s gavel. During the recognition, her accomplishments will be highlighted, and she will be presented with a certificate while being photographed alongside the Board of Trustees, Superintendent Dr. Xavier De La Torre, Principal Javier E. Salgado, and her nominating teacher/adviser, Ryan D. Mullenix.
